From Grindelwald, you take the cable car "Eiger Express" to the Eigergletscher station. In just 15 minutes, the modern cable car, which opened in 2020, takes you to the station. Along the way, you'll enjoy a spectacular view of the mighty, 1800-metre-high Eiger North Face. At Eigergletscher, you change to the cogwheel train and travel through the Eiger and Mönch massif towards Jungfraujoch. A short stop is made at Eismeer station, where you can admire and photograph the impressive glacier through a large panoramic window.

Practical Information

• Dogs require their own ticket between Eigergletscher and Jungfraujoch, as well as for the return journey.

A roughly 45-minute hike takes you from Jungfraujoch between March and October across the glacier to Mönchsjochhütte, located at 3,657 meters above sea level. The trail is well signposted and maintained. This easy hike is suitable for children too. Wear good shoes, and nothing will stand in the way of your adventure in the Swiss mountain landscape.

• The Jungfraujoch is suitable for strollers and wheelchairs. Access to the Ice Palace is equipped with an wheelchair lift.

• Groups of three or more wheelchairs should inform the station staff at the departure station about their journey. This way, any necessary assistance can be organised.

• Arrive at least 10 minutes before your reserved time at Grindelwald Terminal (mountain departure) and Jungfraujoch station (descent). The scheduled time is binding. If you're late, you may not be able to board.
